Federal State and Immigration Bail Bonds Overview
Immigration
Bail Bonds are a form of Federal Bond and Performance Bond combined into
one. Immigration Bonds are typically set for detainees held by the
US Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) pending a hearing
or court appearance. In almost all cases, there may be several of
these hearings before a decision by the Immigration Judge is issued.
Immigration
Bonds can be paid using a credit card, money order or via Western
Union. Collateral for these bonds can range from partial cash to
homes, raw land, credit cards, stocks, bonds, bank CDs, and high-priced
items such as boats, airplanes, helicopters, and expensive cars.
State Bonds are also commonly referred to as appearance bonds. These Bonds
are set by a Judge of the County or Circuit Court where the accused is being
held pending trial.
State Bonds in most states including the State of Florida cost 10%. Some
states can be a little more, up to 15%. Collateral for these bonds can range
from partial cash to homes, raw land, credit cards, stocks, bonds, bank CDs,
and high-priced items such as boats, airplanes, helicopters, and expensive cars.
Federal Bonds are essentially a combination of performance and appearance
bonds set by a Federal Judge or Magistrate of the US Government pending trial.
Federal Bonds cost 15%. Collateral for these bonds can range from partial
cash to homes, raw land, credit cards, stocks, bonds, bank CDs, and
high-priced items such as boats, airplanes, helicopters, and expensive cars.
